Hakgala Botanical Garden

This picturesque garden has a cool, fresh climate somewhat similar to an alpine atmosphere. The flora of the garden is distinctly subtropical and consisting of indigenous montane vegetation intermingled with introduced subtropical flora from various countries and includes about 1000 plant species.

Pekoe Trail in reverse

The Pekoe Trail, Sri Lanka's first long-distance hiking path, offers a 300km trek through tea country, showcasing diverse landscapes and cultural heritage. It links 22 stages, from Hanthana to Nuwara Eliya, and features tea plantations, villages, and forests, according to travel publications. Reverse hiking allows for a different perspective of the stunning scenery.

Moon Plains

Moon Plains, also known as Sandathenna, is a 400-metre long, 40 metre deep valley in Ranhawadigama, about 6km from Nuwara Eliya. What was once part of a catchment area, Moon Plains is now a notable Agricultural and Environmental Tourism Zone since March 2014.
